If effects of @S06190@ are negligible, \(\Delta \varphi ^{\text{sc}}\), the potential drop associated with the space charge in the @S05591@, vanishes as the charge on the @S05591@ becomes zero. The potential of the @S05591@ corresponding to this condition is the flat band potential, which plays the same role as the potential of zero charge for metals.
