spin-Peierls transition

https://doi.org/10.1351/goldbook.S05873
A magneto-elastic transition that occurs in quasi one-dimensional antiferromagnetic materials when the magnetic @F02515@ decrease due to the formation of singlet spin pairs outweighs the increase in lattice @F02515@ occurring as a result of the @D01744@ of the regular array. Example: The transition in tetrathiafulvalenium bis(dithiolene)cuprate at \(12\ \text{K}\).
