Chemical shift difference between isotropic and
anisotropic states in
nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy.
Notes: - Nuclei which are part of a specific functional group resonate at different frequencies depending on shielding by the local electronic environment and thus can give information on their relative orientation.
- Chemical shift anisotropy also contributes to nuclear spin relaxation.
