Calibration method of
neutron activation analysis in which the
\(k_{0}\) proportionality factors, together with a value of the neutron flux (as a function of the neutron energy) and with a value of the radiation detector's response for gamma radiation (as a function of the gamma-ray energy) are used for establishing a relationship between the number of counts measured and the corresponding amounts of elements in a material.
Note: The
\(k_{0}\) proportionality factor is a ratio of the experimentally measured nuclear parameters of the (radio)nuclides and those parameters of the respective (radio)isotopes of a
calibrator (often based on Au).
