Definition:
Substance that combines the properties of an initiator, a reversible chain-transfer agent and a chain terminator or reversible deactivator.

Notes:
1) Some iniferters are also RAFT agents.
2) A substance that combines the properties of a photoinitiator, a reversible chain-transfer agent and a chain terminator or reversible deactivator is known as a photoiniferter.

Example: Examples of iniferters in radical polymerization are bis(carbamothioylsulfanyl)disulfides with structure \(\ce{(R2NC(=S)S)2}\) (traditional name is thiuram disulfide).
