Partial pressure
\(p\) of a species in the gas phase divided by the amount concentration
\(c_{\rm{l}}\) of that species in the liquid phase under equilibrium conditions at infinite dilution:
\[H_{\rm{v}}^{pc}: = \underset{c_{\rm{l}} \to 0}{\rm{lim}}\frac{p}{c_{\rm{l}}}\]Note:
The coherent SI unit for \(H_{\rm{v}}^{pc}\) is \(\pu{Pa m3 mol-1}\).
Example:
The Henry volatility of ozone in water at \(T = \pu{298.15 K}\) is \(H_{\rm{v}}^{pc}(\ce{O3}) = \pu{1.0E4 Pa m3 mol-1}\).
