Definition:
Polymer that bears specified chemical groups.

Note: Examples of functions of functional polymers are catalytic activity, selective binding of particular species, @C00796@ and transport of @E01923@ carriers or energy, conversion of light to charge carriers and vice versa, and transport of drugs to a particular organ in which the @D01863@ is released.
