Term: photodecarbonylation
https://doi.org/10.1351/goldbook.PT07453

Definition:
Photoinduced extrusion of carbon monoxide (CO).

Notes:
0) Typical example is the @N04219@, in which, after production of the diradical upon photoinduced α-cleavage, CO is eliminated. This reaction has been widely exploited for the production of radicals in crystals, as well as for the synthesis of cyclic compounds. PT07453.png
1) Another example is the photodecarbonylation of alpha-aryl @A00208@.
