acronym: PIGE

Measurement principle in which the energies and intensities of characteristic prompt gamma-radiation emitted during nuclear reactions with charged particles other than electrons is used to measure the amounts of elements in a material.
Note:
The particle that induces gamma-rays may be explicitly mentioned, e.g. 'proton-induced gamma-ray-emission analysis'.
