pseudo-ionic polymerization

https://doi.org/10.1351/goldbook.09007
Polymerization proceeding by insertion of a monomer into a polar bond without the generation of ions.
Notes:
  1. Most pseudo-ionic polymerizations involve concerted (e.g., four- or multi-centre) mechanisms of propagation.
  2. The term pseudo-ionic polymerization has been most often used in connection with ring-opening polymerization.
