iniferter

https://doi.org/10.1351/goldbook.08955
Substance that combines the properties of an initiator, a reversible chain-transfer agent and a chain terminator or reversible deactivator.

Note 1: Some iniferters are also RAFT agents.

Note 2: A substance that combines the properties of a photoinitiator, a reversible chain-transfer agent and a chain terminator or reversible deactivator is known as a photoiniferter.

Examples: Examples of iniferters in radical polymerization are bis(carbamothioylsulfanyl)disulfides with structure (RA2NC(=S)S)A2 (traditional name is thiuram disulfide).
